Step 1. Done.

Surgery is complete and so far I’m doing pretty good.

It has been a long draining day. Saying goodbye to loved ones before surgery is so emotional.  I was pretty sad initially, with a steady flow of tears running down my cheeks. The  nurse tried valiantly to keep my chin up while also needing me to move into a change room to get my beautiful backless gown on.

Wiping away tears I asked “Do I just leave my undies on?”

“No we have underpants in the change room for you”, the nurse replied.

What I had not anticipated was how special the underwear would be.. added bonus one size fits all.

Paper undie selfie 😜
My tears dried up as I pulled these beauties on! Lol.

I felt like a cabbage patch doll in a pair of pilchers! I burst out laughing at myself.

As I sat there with ten other nervous (and starving) souls waiting for the theatre nurses to call our name I couldn’t help but imagine each of them in their cabbage patch knickers too!

Gotta get your kicks where you can.

We all know, no one will ever live down Di’s infamous email, but you sure gave Rick some pretty serious fodder with that selfie!
Day 1 down, yeah! So glad to hear the first step went well.
